Yiyang

Yiyang is a city in Hunan province, China. In 2002, the city had a population of 4.5 millons, of which the city proper had 1.3 millions.

History


Yiyang was founded in the Qin dynasty. During the Taiping Rebellion its name was changed to DeSheng county.

Agriculture


Yiyang has many hilly farmlands in its vicinity. The primary crop around Yiyang is rice, with tea, bamboo also being planted.

Culture and traditions


Huaguxi, the local is very popular in Yiyang.

Ho Feng Shan is a famous son of Yiyang.

Libo Zhou is a well-known writer in China, who was born in Yiyang.
